I used to really love reading. Years ago I made time for it regularly.
Somewhere along the way, life got busy. Distractions took over. And reading became one of those things I “used to do.”
Lately I’ve been working on rebuilding better habits - starting with my mornings. I’m a natural early bird, but my first bad habit to break was scrolling first thing instead of using that time well.
So now my mornings are structured different!
Bible reading first👌 I started this year and finished the New Testament, now working through the Old Testament. Then a good book.
I finished Atomic Habits a couple weeks ago. Small note that stuck with me: it’s less about motivation and more about designing your environment so the right habit becomes the easy one.
Simple, and it’s helped me restructure my mornings.

Sometimes a cancelled flight turns into an unexpected gift. ✈️
Montreal 🩷 the city where my family first landed in Canada. 40 years ago.
I got to walk past the school where I was learning French, sitting in classrooms not quite understanding what was going on. And playing that elastic game at recess like it was the most important thing in the world. 🤣
Who else played that?!
And the house where we all lived 🩷 my mom, my dad, my brother, my aunt, my cousin, and my grandma. All of us, under one roof, starting a new chapter in a new country.
Standing there today felt special.
